Construction
The unit mainly consists of a cubic container with dust funnel fitted below the base. The housing of the test chamber is made from sandwich panels. An acrylic glass door, equipped with a window wiper, is fitted to the front of the test chamber. Optimum seal of the test chamber is ensured by special rubber gaskets around the door. A grid made from galvanised steel is located above the funnel on which the specimens are placed. The talcous dust filled into the dust chamber is blown into the test chamber by means of the recirculated air fan. The depositing fine dust particles are collected in the funnel. On the circular, horizontal bottom of the funnel the dust is led to the opening by rotating slides radially arranged. Drive is by an exterior motor. The dust is returned to the air flow and thus to the dust chamber through a connected collector. The dust is kept dry by a heating device fixed to the floor. The electrical section is installed in the switch cabinet fitted to the test chamber side wall. This switch cabinet will be connected to the power supply by means of a CEE-plug. The electrical section incorporates an adjustable time relay for setting of the test duration and an operating time meter. The switch cabinet is wired in accordance with the VDE regulations. The vacuum device will be connected to housings of type 1. It consists of the vacuum pump with a suction capacity of 4.5 l/min, an inlet filter, a flowmeter with adjustable valve as well as a pressure gauge. The setting and monitoring devices are arranged at the front side below the test chamber. The unit is equipped with a positive displacement gas meter for measurement of the specimen's exhaust volume (measuring range 0,04 to 6 m©ø/h).
